Terms of Service
These terms explain what Africawe offers, what we do not promise, and what we expect from everyone who uses the site. By using Africawe you agree to them.
What Africawe does
Africawe publishes research on African diaspora and cross-border business, reviews businesses for Trade-Readiness Verification, and runs the Market, a directory of exporters, suppliers, buyers and professionals. Africawe is Africa-focused and globally open: anyone in any country may take part, and the same rules and review standards apply to everyone.
What we do not guarantee
We do not guarantee buyers, contracts, capital, investment or sales. A listing, a match or a verification badge is not a promise that anyone will do business with you. Verification confirms specific claims at a point in time; it is not a credit rating, legal opinion, audit, anti-money-laundering check or guarantee of any company. Nothing on Africawe, including answers from Ask Africawi, is legal, financial or investment advice.
Your responsibilities
- Give true, current information and keep it up to date.
- Only list businesses you own or are allowed to represent.
- Keep your sign-in details private; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- Do your own checks before you sign a contract, send money or ship goods.
Acceptable use
- No false, misleading or fraudulent listings, documents or reviews.
- No spam, scraping, or bulk messaging of other members.
- No illegal goods or services, or anything that breaks sanctions or export rules.
- No harassment, hate speech, or attempts to break or overload the site.
We may remove content, lower a verification level or close an account that breaks these rules.
Payments
Prices are in US dollars and shown before you pay. Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
Limits of liability
Africawe is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses from deals between members, from decisions you make using our data, or for indirect losses. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
How disputes are handled
If you have a problem with Africawe, write to us first and we will try to resolve it within 30 days. If you dispute a verification or a fact in our data, use our Corrections Policy. Disputes between members are for the members to resolve; we may pause a listing while a serious complaint is looked at.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version; for important changes we will tell members by email.
