Privacy Policy

What we collect and why

• Account: your email and name, so you can sign in and manage your profile.
• Survey: your answers, used only in combined, anonymous results. Your email, if you give it, is stored separately and never linked to your answers. We use it only to send results or contact you about a listing if you tick those boxes.
• Verification documents: ID, registration, tax and address documents and product evidence, used only to review your application.
• Purchases: the product, amount, date and your account. Card details are handled by our payment provider, Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
• Newsletter and messages: your email and what you send us, so we can reply or send what you asked for.

How long we keep it

• Verification documents: We keep your documents while your verification is active and for up to 12 months after it ends or is declined, then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
• Account and listing data: while your account is open, then deleted within 90 days of closing it.
• Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting law requires (usually up to 7 years).
• Questionnaire and survey answers: stored without your name or email and kept in anonymous form for research. Contact emails are stored separately, never linked to answers, and deleted when you ask. Each email choice (snapshot, introductions, news) is separate and optional; nothing from the questionnaire is published. To correct or delete anything, email info@africawe.com.

Who can see it

Your public profile fields are visible to everyone. Everything else — documents, survey answers, contact details and messages — is stored privately and only named Africawe administrators can see it. We share data only with service providers that run the site (hosting, payments, email) under contract, or when the law requires. We do not sell personal data.

Your rights and deletion requests

You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your data, or withdraw consent, at any time by writing to info@africawe.com. We reply within 30 days.

International users, including the UK and EU

If you are in the UK or EU, you have rights under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR. We rely on your consent (survey, newsletter, cookies), on our contract with you (accounts, purchases, verification), and on legal duties (tax records). Your data may be processed outside your country; when it is, we use providers with recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. You can complain to your local data protection authority, such as the ICO in the UK.

Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your cookie choice and save forms in progress. Non-essential cookies, such as analytics, are only used if you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner. You can change your choice any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer.
