Professional & Technology

Turn expertise and technology into contracts and long-term clients.

Professional work sells on positioning, proof, and delivery discipline. Use the practice plan to define your offer and rates, the market guide to find demand, and the engagement checklist to protect every contract.

Practice & Service Plan Template

Written once and revised quarterly, this turns 'available for work' into a business with a pipeline.

1. Positioning

  • Which specific problem do you solve, for which type of organisation?
  • What outcome does the client get, stated as a result not a task?
  • Why you rather than a larger firm or a cheaper freelancer?

2. Service Offers

  • Define three offers: a small paid diagnostic, a core project, and a retainer.
  • Scope, deliverables, duration, and price for each.
  • What is explicitly out of scope?

3. Pricing

  • Your day rate, project price, and retainer, in the client's currency.
  • Minimum engagement you will accept, and why.
  • How you handle payment delays and currency conversion.

4. Proof

  • Three results you can describe with numbers, even if anonymised.
  • Credentials, certifications, or portfolio artefacts a buyer can inspect.
  • Two referees who will take a call.

5. Pipeline

  • Where do your clients already gather: sectors, associations, platforms?
  • Which 20 organisations do you want as clients this year?
  • What is your weekly outreach and follow-up routine?

6. Delivery

  • Your standard process from kickoff to handover.
  • Tools, collaborators, and capacity limits.
  • How you report progress and protect quality under pressure.

7. Contracts & Protection

  • Standard agreement, intellectual property terms, and confidentiality.
  • How you get paid across borders, and what you invoice in advance.
  • Liability limits and professional insurance, if applicable.

8. 90-Day Plan

  • Revenue target, number of conversations, and proposals to send.
  • One capability or credential to strengthen.
